Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination
IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board) is an Advanced Level program supervised, run and moderated by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. It is an alternative means by which students can obtain admission into the university. It allows successful students in the program to get admitted into 200 Level in any Nigerian Universities of their choice.
IJMB stands for “Interim Joint Matriculation Board”. It is an Advanced Level (A’level) program. It is a 9-10 months program, after which a direct entry form will be obtained by successful candidates for admission into 200 Level into the University. It serves as an alternative method of gaining admission into a tertiary institution in Nigeria.
The Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria moderated the Advanced Level (A’Level) programme, IJMB, just like the University of Ilorin supervises JUPEB programme, and the university of Cambridge supervises Cambridge A Level in Nigeria. IJMB is a federal government programme approved programme and it is certified by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC).
IJMB which allow successful students to get admissions into 200 level of almost any Nigerian university and candidates can actually study any course of their choice with the programme. The IJMB program span through a period of 9 – 10 months, hence students are still accepted into the programme at 7 months to 5 months into the IJMB programme.
Therefore, time has nothing to do with your result but the seriousness of the student. It is thus important to say at this point that the IJMB programme isn’t a difficult programme and so, it is not for the brilliants students but for the determined students who is ready to sacrifice time and energy. The exam is not a difficult one as candidates only needs to sit tight to pass the IJMB exam.
The IJMB programme allows candidates to choose three courses/subjects in relation to what they want to study in the university. The highest point for each course/subject is five (5) points and this is denoted as “A”. This is to imply that all the three courses will have fifteen (15) points put together, with an addition of one (1) if in any of the three courses/subjects you don’t have F (fail) which is a zero (0) point. This sums to a total of sixteen (16) points altogether for the IJMB programme.
IJMB Programme Points:
A = 5 points courses/subjects
B = 4 points
C = 3 points
D = 2 points
E = 1 point
F = 0 point
For candidates to be considered to have passed the IJMB exam, candidate must score a minimum of 5 points in total, out of 16 points.

Afterwards, go to payment & confirmation to indicate and clear our payment.
Then, you can fill Registration Form Online or print out the IJMB Registration Form.
If you printed out your form, will then have to fill the printed form with CAPITAL LETTERS.
Attach your passport to the upper-right-corner of the form.
Next, you go to the nearest cyber cafe to you and scan the form you have already filled.
Also scan the teller copy you used for the form payment.
Send all the scanned data to the email address: email@example.com
Within 24 hours, a reply will be sent to you via your email to confirm your registration.
The email will include other few details you need to know as an IJMB student.
Also, a PDF file of course’s syllabus, centre’s address and information, as well as the IJMB Timetable, will also be sent to your mail.

The total fees to be paying throughout the IJMB programme is #170,000 (165,000 after payment of form fee of 5,000).
This total fee would cover; form fee, tuition fee, hostel accommodation and text books.
